Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 has reached the end of a very long life. At this point, it's not much loved by....well, just about anyone except corporate IT departments with legacy applications that won't run with anything current.

Hiveminder's (admittedly less than perfect) support for IE6 ends on April 21 2010. If you're currently using IE6 to access Hiveminder, we'd recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as a modern alternative. These newer browsers are speedier, prettier and more compatible with the modern web.

We've just pushed an updated mobile UI for Hiveminder. It should be just a bit prettier and easier to navigate, though the only new feature is the ability to show an entire tasklist on one page

We've made a little bit of a change to some of Hiveminder's core infrastructure. We're hopeful that this change will fix some of the performance issues folks have been seeing over the past months. If you notice that things are significantly better (or that they're not), please drop us a line via the feedback box.

We're rolling out some interface changes. Many of these changes were driven (directly or indirectly) by performance enhancements. For example, we've cut the HTML size of a 20-item tasklist in half. This results in improved service for everyone.

We're certainly aware that most UI changes can be contentious. Please feel free to send us feedback about what you dislike. If you very much like any change, we'd also appreciate it if you let us know. And, as always, suggestions for improvement are welcome. That's why we have a feedback box on every page after all. :)

One of our users, Kris Arnold, has published a (free!) iPhone app, iMinder, for interacting with Hiveminder. Now using Hiveminder offline is even easier. It has a slick interface and keeps your task list synced. It's available on the App Store.

You may have noticed that in our standard web interface, the "new task" bar now greets you at the top of the page. We feel this is an important usability improvement. Having to scroll down to the bottom of the page to add new tasks was annoying enough that people were less likely to do it for tiny tasks, making Hiveminder a little less useful.

We have some design ideas that this change enables, but we want to start small. Please give us your feedback about whether you like this change or not, and how we can make it work even better for you.

This evening there was a small glitch in the web interface, but that should be fixed now. Sorry about that!

Many of our international users have requested that we allow calendars, which pop up when you edit a starts or due date, to start on Monday instead of Sunday. You can now enable this by going to your preferences (under the Tools menu) and checking off the box next to "Calendar starts on Monday?"

If you're using Google Talk to chat with hmtasks on jabber, you may have had problems over the past couple days. Google's IM servers had gotten overzealously picky, and it took us a bit to adapt our servers to cope. You may need to log out of your IM client, and back in again, in order for hmtasks@hiveminder.com to show up on your buddy list.

The past few days have seen some strange IM behavior, such as filters not sticking. These should now be fixed, but please let us know if any problems persist. Sorry about that.

We're currently tracking an issue with the Hiveminder Bee not vanishing after you perform an update. More details as we have them.

edit: We tracked it down and fixed it. There was a bug in our JavaScript. Thanks to all who reported seeing infinitely spinning bees. Sorry about that!
